Black Flag Wing Chun Seminar in Rome June 2014 Report

June 3-4, 2014 --> Travelling
I start heading for Rome from Los Angeles on June 3, and arrived in Rome June 4 evening. Both National Chief Instructors for HKB Wing Chun Italy picked me at the airport. Went to dinner in Turkish town and drop me at hotel afterwards to rest.

June 5, 2014 First day training National Chief Instructors, Master Riccardo Di Vito and Master Gianluca Giusto.
I spent the whole day teaching on in-dept internal power development on various topics and application. Primarily is on how to improve their Intent power without engaging any muscle at all. This is done through a special training on bone marrow washing within Sam Chian Po [3 battle steps]  form. We work on slow and fast motion application to have the right precision and enough amount of intent power. Furthermore, I emphasize that what makes Wing Chun powerful, not because of the external such as Structure, etc, but it's because of the internal because it comes from the intent.

June 6, 2014 --> Instructor training in the morning and visiting HKB Roma Bukoan center in the afternoon
We spent the first part of the day with non-structure Instructor training. I have the master level instructors, Riccardo Di Vito and Gianluca Giusto to work on two directional intent power, while working with the rest of Instructors on various topics.
We cover combat application, sparring, basic Human instructor [2 triangle], footwork and position and heavy weight aspect of impulse power.

Second part of the day, we went for surprised visiting our Roma HKB Wing Chun Branch. Gave special training on Impulse Shock Power and its application on combat. Then observing their class and step in in various topics. Everyone was so excited and blown away with the details. So looking forward for the next day, the big day. Official HKB Seminar.

June 7, 2014 --> Instructor training in the morning and Seminar Day 1 in the afternoon.

We started the day at 8am in the morning, begin with Instructor training. This was one of the biggest instructor group training I ever did in Italy. We spent the majority of morning covering Heaven-Earth-Man Structure, Yin Yang Path of structure and its application on combat and sticky hands. We also cover a bit about advanced impulse power with the focus on detachment.

In the afternoon, at 2pm, we begin the Official first day of seminar. First day we focus on using footwork for optimum body position, then we work on proper structure of Wing Chun. In the end, we cover detachment concept for the purpose of Impulse Shock power.

In the evening, we did a very intense detail interview. Our Italian Instructors team conducted an interview on me about THE TRUE ORIGIN of BLACK FLAG WING CHUN. This is the first time that I really went deep and explain every details. This Video  interview will be available in the next couple weeks for all of our members, in two version, English and Italian.

June 8, 2014 --> Seminar day 1 in the morning, followed by Instructor training in the afternoon

In the first part of the day, I conducted the last day of seminar, covering very in-dept practical way to achieve combat maximum efficiency. I also explain about the nature of our formula in my attempt to debunk some of those marketing gimmick from certain group that try to sell secret formula/technique. I gave a concrete demonstration of how our Bong Jiu [Bong Sao] different because of the formula for maximum efficiency. Afterwards, I went ahead and showed everyone the real secret of Black Flag wing Chun to develop Kung Fu Skills. We spent extreme training on stances, footwork, 2000 punches, 2000 Tiu Jiu [Tan Sao] techniques and basic bridging hands to develop the detachment impulse shock power.

In the end, it was an eye opening for everyone, that In Black Flag Wing Chun, there is no so called secret techniques, secret moves nor secret formulas to get real kung Fu Skills.  As everyone can see that in the last 5 years, I had been working very hard to dispel the myth of so-called wing chun 'secret formula'. Which is nothing more than basic understanding of right placement and position, commonly used in most southern kung fu.

Real skills comes from hard training. No secret and no secret formula!
Result of hard work ==> Produce Real Kung Fu
Secret Formula =====> Low Marketing tactics, is just a marketing gimmicks, can't produce skills

In the afternoon, we started off with the scheduled instructor testing for three instructor candidates:

1. Stefano Fenzi from Livorno
2. Damaso Colasante from Roma
3. Fabrizio Castellini from Genova

I was very happy with their skills and how much they really understand the program to be able to conduct the world class teaching. Upon my satisfaction, I certified three of them, as First level certified Associate Instructors for Black Flag Wing Chun

Afterward, We started the instructor training, we spent the extreme detail on applying the Yin Yang Path of structure within Sticky Hands [Niam Jiu] and all different variations.

CONCLUSION

Overall, it was a very successful Black Flag Wing Chun event in Rome, Italy. I am very happy to see the progression of our organization in Italy. All due to the works of all our members, especially our leaders in Italy. I am very excited to move forward with our plan to expand in Europe.  Future of HKB / Black Flag Wing Chun looks very bright in Italy.

I also want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to my National representative both Master Riccardo Di Vito dan Master Gianluca Giusto for making all this happen and all the VIP treatment they gave. And thank you for all the Italian HKB / Black Flag Wing Chun members for their supports and hard workds. I am very proud of everyone there.
